"He is a winner, it's as simple as that," said Corny yesterday about his new signing, midfielder Martin Thomas who joins from Oxford United.
"I've never played with him, but every time I've played against him, I've always found him very hard to play against.
"The crowd will love him in the way the crowd at Swansea loved him because he always wears his heart on his sleeve.
"He also gets into the box and scores goals. People might remember him scoring the winner for Swansea against West Ham in the FA Cup on TV around three years ago. He has agreed terms, he will have a medical on Monday and I would expect him to sign then."
The other signing Corny has made, Gareth Sheldon, tasted promotion from the third division in 1999 with Scunthorpe United. He scored twice in the playoff semi-final, and created the winning goal for Basque midfielder Alex Calvo-Garcia in the final at Wembley.
