Exeter first-team coach Rob Edwards heaped praise on midfielder Jake Thomson and keeper Artur Krysiak for their displays in the reserve team game against Plymouth, despite a 2-0 defeat. First-half goals from Argyle's Joe Mason and Yannick Bolasie condemned Exeter to defeat but Edwards still had words of praise for some of his players. He told This is Exeter: "There were still some positives to take from the game. Some of the young lads did really well. "Jake had a good game. He can use his pace to get at teams, and he can recover and be a defender for us. He showed glimpses of the real talent that he has. "Artur had a good game as well. He's pushing for a place in the first team. You need two good goalkeepers, and we've got four."
