Tisdale to keep faith in youth

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale looks set to hand second successive starts to youngsters Tom Nichols and Jordan Moore-Taylor when they welcome Chesterfield on Friday night.

The homegrown duo starred in the Grecians' 3-2 win over Accrington last Saturday with Nichols scoring twice on his first start of the campaign and Moore-Taylor standing in admirably for captain Danny Coles at centre-back.

And while they look likely to retain their places, Tisdale remains without Coles, who has undergone a knee operation, and midfielder Matt Oakley, who is targeting a February return from his ankle injury.

In Coles' absence Scot Bennett, one of seven City youth products in the squad against Stanley, will captain the side again as they look for their first home victory since early October.

Matty Brown will be available for Chesterfield after his red card against Plymouth was rescinded.

Brown, a summer signing from non-league Marine, had an eventful debut for the Spireites last weekend, scoring an early goal to set Paul Cook's men on their way to a 2-0 home win before being sent off in the second half.

But after studying video evidence submitted by the club, the FA Regulatory Commission has overturned the decision after ruling that it was a case of wrongful dismissal.

Injuries forced off Armand Gnanduillet (shoulder) and Marc Richards (foot) against Argyle, with the strikers joining defenders Liam Cooper (ankle) and Nathan Smith (ankle) and midfielders Jimmy Ryan (shoulder), Ollie Banks (hamstring), Sam Morsy (knee) and Gary Roberts (hamstring) in the treatment room.
