Exeter V Hartlepool at St James Park - Match Preview

Oakley blow for Grecians

Exeter will be without Matt Oakley for the visit of Hartlepool to St James Park.

The former Southampton midfielder came off shortly after his half-time introduction in the Devon derby win over Plymouth last Saturday and his ankle problem means he will not be fit to face Pools.

Paul Tisdale will be able to welcome back Irish striker John O'Flynn and will assess Sam Parkin's hamstring injury in the build-up to kick-off, although the match may come too soon for the former Swindon forward.

In their two-game absence, Scot Bennett was moved up front and responded with three goals which should be enough for the City youth product to keep his place in a side full of confidence after victory over their biggest rivals.

Hartlepool manager Colin Cooper will have almost a full squad to choose from.

Jack Baldwin is back in contention after serving a one-match ban and Sam Collins will be in line for a place in the starting line-up after overcoming the knee injury that kept him out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy win at Sheffield United on Tuesday.

Matty Dolan returned to training this week following a groin problem that kept him out of Pools' last two games and is available for selection.

Steve Howard is serving the second game of a three-match ban after a red card in Hartlepool's 3-1 home defeat to Oxford.
