The 25-year-old's current deal runs out in the summer but Perryman told of the club's determination to keep hold of their talented midfielder during the January transfer window, insisting he would only be sold if a much better offer was received.
He told the club's official website: "We are well aware of the interest in Ryan but we feel it would be counter-productive to sell one of our key squad members during the middle of the season unless we receive an offer that is more interesting than those we've received so far.
"We are very appreciative of the great job the manager is doing here and we want to give him the best tools available to continue that job rather than take one of them away and weaken the team for the next 25 or so games.
"Paul has our support and backing in terms of what he wants to achieve and keeping Ryan is part of that."
