The Grecians will celebrate their centenary in two year's time, and it is hoped that the mighty South American's can be tempted over.
For it was Exeter City who were the first English opposition to ever meet the Brazilians, on a tour on the eve of the First World War.
During a tour of South American City played out a 3-3 draw with the Brazilian national side.
The proposal to bring the side over to celebrate the centenary was suggested by City historian Dave Fisher and Aiden Hamilton.
Hamilton has contacted Nike and has a number of areas to pursue.
"They've suggested we need the support of the authorities over here and we've already got the support of the Devon FA," explained Fisher today in the Express & Echo.
"The FA (in London) have basically said they don't organise this sort of thing themselves and that they would need to sanction it.
"But our next step is to send off to Brazil the letters we have from the Devon FA and the FA, which we'll do in July or August when the World Cup is over.
"Then we'll just have to wait and see what happens. If it doesn't work, then at least we've tried."
Co-chairman of City, John Russell, has backed the idea.
"I really hope it comes off because it would be fantastic for the club," he said.
"What's delighted me more than anything is that there are fans out there who are using their own initiative to find new ways to help the club."
