Trialist James Lawrie is determined to win himself a permanent deal at Exeter. The 19-year-old Northern Ireland international was released by Port Vale at the end of last season and been given a two-week period to impress by Grecians boss Paul Tisdale. "I would really like to be an Exeter player," Lawrie told the Express & Echo. "They have had a lot of success in the last few years and you can tell this is a progressive club. "The manager, the staff and all the players are out to improve and it is a good club to be around. The atmosphere is positive and the training enjoyable. "There have been a few clubs interested in me, but none of the stature of Exeter. This is where I would like to be. "The manager is looking for a striker and hopefully I can be the one he is looking for."
