Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale says he is not surprised to find the Grecians in a League One relegation fight after two successive promotions.A 1-0 defeat against Stockport County at St James Park on Saturday saw Exeter drop to fourth from bottom in the league standings.
Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon: "We're not surprised we're in this challenge, but we have to enjoy it.
"Of course it's disappointing but there's a long way to go."
Tisdale knows his side will have to draw on all their resources to retain their status in their third tier of English football.
He said: "There's no point dipping out of it and taking short cuts.
"We have to meet it head on and there's no better way to do that than to play again on Tuesday at home."
Bristol Rovers are the visitors on Tuesday evening.
