Two goals from Jamie Cureton were key in a stylish attacking display for the Grecians, with the win moving the club up to 9th in the league.
Tisdale said: "It was a good day for the club. People have questioned why I have such an affinity for this club and the last couple of days has proved it. It would have been very easy to call the game off yesterday, but such is the commitment of the people at the club - not just the volunteers (who cleared the pitch of snow), but the employees of the club.
"They have such care and we did everything we possibly could to get the game on and sometimes, you just deserve something. It shows what this club is all about and I am delighted for everybody.
"It wasn't a forgone conclusion and we were playing against a side that scored six goals last week. We haven't scored five goals for a long time, but we played some good stuff today. We weren't impeccable and the first half was a bit scrappy at times, but we attacked very well and things came off for us today.
"We deserved our win, we played really well and I am delighted. It is an early Christmas present for the supporters."
"I am very pleased with my job here at Exeter and I have been linked once or twice with other clubs, but there is nothing in it. I am very happy here."
