The woodwork denied Accrington Stanley an important win against Exeter, which would have boosted their charge for a play-off place.
Lee McEvilly looked to have scored on 15 minutes when he fired goalwards from a tight angle.
The ball hit the inside of the opposite post and rolled across the goal-line with the keeper managing to stop it going over much to the Reds' frustration.
"When things aren't going well for you, things like that happen," said Accy manager John Coleman, whose side have won just once in eight games.
"I thought we could win it and I am disappointed with the point, but we have got to keep pressing and see where it takes us." Accrington had a couple of good chances in the first half. Top scorer Paul Mullin headed over twice while McEvilly, Ged Brannan and Ian Craney all had chances to break the deadlock before half-time.
But Exeter who also rued their luck when Alex Jeannin's 30-yard free-kick went through keeper Carl Ikeme's hands, but McEvilly was there to hook the ball off the line.
In the second half it was mainly a midfield battle, but there were still a couple of chances for each side.
Sean Devine fired off target for Exeter, McEvilly volleyed over for Accrington while the visitors' best chance came in the final minute.
A corner found unmarked Gary Sawye,r but he amazingly headed over with the goal at his mercy.
