Stalemate at St James ParkExeter and York played out an uninspiring goalless draw in a game of very few chances at St James Park.A scrappy start to the game was punctuated by an injury to Stephane Zubar, which saw him carried off, while a clash of heads between Exeter's Troy Brown and Vadane Oliver of York led to another lengthy delay. In fact, there wasn't a shot at goal in a half that was lacking in chances as well as quality, although Exeter had the better of the possession and looked the more likely to create something.Exeter upped the tempo at the start of the second half and Manny Oyeleke shot narrowly too high from 25 yards while Ryan Harley placed a shot wide from 18 yards after good work by Tom Nichols.York offered nothing after the break and as time ticked on they seemed happy to settle for a point, committing few men forward and killing time. Both teams will have to find their shooting boots if they are to cause an upset in the League Cup this coming week, with York at Swansea and Exeter making the long trek to Sunderland
