Dale down GreciansRochdale maintained their promotion push with a thoroughly deserved 1-0 win at Exeter.Jamie Allen scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half-time to leave Exeter still looking for a first home win since they beat Plymouth on October 5.Rochdale were the better team in the first half, although they were fortunate not to have fallen behind when Exeter striker John O'Flynn blazed a gilt-edged chance over the bar from 10 yards.Exeter were made to pay as Rochdale opened the scoring in the final minute of the half
The Grecians were slow to react to a quick throw and although goalkeeper Christy Pym kept out the first effort, Jamie Allen was on hand to score the rebound.Exeter fared little better after the break with Rochdale well in control and they should have put the game to bed when Ian Henderson played in Matthew Lund, but his shot hit the inside of the box and rolled along the line before going out for a goal kick.The home side failed to test Rochdale goalkeeper Josh Lillis in a poor second half from the home side
