Shroot to the rescue for Stevenage
Robin Shroot's fine second-half volley kept Stevenage's play-off hopes on track following a 1-1 draw at Exeter.
Shroot volleyed a fine equaliser from 15 yards that went in off both posts to cancel out Richard Logan's opener for Exeter.
Exeter started the game well and went in front with their first real chance of the contest in the 15th minute when David Noble lobbed the ball forward and Logan took it down on his chest, wriggled free and poked a cool finish inside Stevenage goalkeeper Chris Day's near post.
Stevenage went on to dominate the first period and Shroot missed a glorious chance to equalise on the stroke of half-time, but headed horribly wide with the goal at his mercy.
Things continued in the same fashion after the break as Exeter struggled to impose themselves on the game and an equaliser seemed imminent when Shroot volleyed home an unstoppable shot off both posts.
Both sides had chances to win it with Daniel Nardiello coming closest for Exeter, but he fired straight at Day.
